Dominant in the painting of Mina Papatheodorou Valyraki, the creative instinct combines consummately and in a uniquely intense way together with the genuine talent of the artist to achieve, freely and independently, a full and complete synergy and collaboration between the two basic pillars of a composition, colour and line.

Adverse to every academic or commonplace description, the paintings of Mina Papatheodorou Valyraki communicate directly and substantially with the viewer, thanks to their inexaustible expressive dynamism.

It is the very joy of living and the strong personality of the artist which are manifestly transfused, revealing each time a new aspect of her talent. A talent which, already ascertained and established since her childhood years, has managed to maintain the creativity of the artist at its peak, during all her phases, far from any particular influence, imitation, or easy solutions.

The vibrant colour and the equally vibrant and rhythmical line are constantly recreated in each of her works in eruptions and explosions. Explosions which directly convey to us the message they contain, whether it be the associations evoked by the form of a racing car, or by a crane or a ship, or whether it be an "impression" stimulated mainly by a still - but so very animate - "still life", of the bustle and rhythm of a city, etc.

Poised on the ingenious borderline between representation and abstraction - a borderline which confirms the uniqueness of her works - the painting style of the artist impresses one with the powerful way in which is captured the inner pulse of that which stimulates her each time, transmitting it fully, after it has passed through the filter of her talent.

Richly endowed with talent, the creator, in spite of her youth, has already attained maturity, and that, in an inspired manner. A manner which, while establishing the coherence of a work, constantly prescribes new solutions which ingeniously renew its identity and character. The dynamism of the racing car, its speed, the pulse and power of the city, the intensity of the "personality" of the objects which constitute a "still life", and the ingenious way in which they are connected with what is beyond our vision, penetrate into our deeper consciousness, where they are transmuted, thanks to her talent, into impressions and recollections impervious to the wear of time.

Impressions-recollections which here confirm the truth of Plato's definition of genuine art; the existence and orchestration of an "idea" and not the formula of an estimation.

It is just this "idea" of speed, of the rhythm of a city, of the pulsation of a "still life", transmuted through colour and line and, especially, through the constantly renewed and reballasted solutions devised by the artist, that we find confirmed in each of her paintings! Each one of which constitutes, each time, a "poetic creation". A poetic creation orchestrated through the explosive but always harmonious bursts of colour and the elasticity and mobility of line. Characteristics which of themselves place the painter in the first rank, among the artists of her generation, and at the same time establish her position internationally.
